The Acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, met with Heads of State and Government of Latin America who attended the inaugural session of the COP25.
During the meeting, Acting President of the Government Sánchez listened to the needs of these countries on climate change matters in a region with enormous wealth in bio-diversity, but with many particularly vulnerable zones. Pedro Sánchez reminded the Latin America leaders that this is the Chile COP, and the fact that it is being held in Madrid is simply a reminder that any country in Latin American can always count on Spain.
Subsequently, Pedro Sánchez held a bilateral meeting with the President of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, who informed him of the situation in his country following the recent upheaval, a conflict that has been resolved through consensus.
Lenin Moreno will meet on Tuesday with Spanish business owners to encourage them to invest in Ecuador. He also invited Pedro Sánchez to visit the Latin American country.
