Mariano Rajoy underlines importance of coordinated actions to help consolidate recovery of global economy

The President of the Spanish Government opened the first work session of the G-20 Summit being held over the weekend in Brisbane, Australia. At this session, which tackles the global economy and how to obtain results in areas of growth and job creation, Mariano Rajoy explained the programme of reforms undertaken by his government, given the interest shown by the G-20 leaders in the issue.

Within the framework of the summit, Mariano Rajoy also held a meeting with the Australian Prime Minister and Rotating President of the Summit, Tony Abbott, who remarked that the success of the reforms undertaken in Spain is an example for everyone.

Mariano Rajoy also met the President of the United States, Barack Obama, at the beginning of the first work session of the G-20 Summit.

The President of the Government took the opportunity of his stay in Brisbane to visit the Works on the Legacy Way tunnel, a project built by a group of companies headed up by Acciona which, according to Mariano Rajoy, represents a source of pride for Spanish companies. These works will result in considerable traffic circulation improvement in the city, improvements to its infrastructure and in demonstrating the great technical capacity of Spanish companies.
