The President of the Government highlighted, among other issues of great importance for Spain that the European Council will debate over Thursday and Friday, industrial policy, competition policy, questioned by some Member States, trade relations with the United States and China, and the fight against fake news.

Prior to this meeting, Pedro Sánchez held bilateral meetings with the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, and with the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani.

At the end of the first working day of the Council, Pedro Sánchez plans to meet with the French President, Emmanuel Macron.
