The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, took part in the 113th meeting of the Executive Council of the UNWTO, held in Madrid, which addressed, among other issues, the candidatures to become Secretary-General of the UNWTO for the period 2022-2025.

The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, attended the central ADIF Traffic Regulation Centre (Spanish acronym: CRC) on Thursday morning, accompanied by the Minister for Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, José Luis Ábalos, at Madrid-Puerta de Atocha train station, where railway traffic that runs on the high-speed network is controlled from, which managed to restore practically all services barely 24 hours after the snowstorm.

Number of applications for national patents due to COVID-19 shoot up

In 2020, the number of applications for national patents rose for the first time since 2017: a total of 1,479 patents were applied for to the Spanish Patents and Trademarks Office, attached to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism.

Government agrees with social stakeholders to extend Temporary Lay-off Plans to 31 May

This is the third extension through consensus with the social stakeholders. The flexibility of the current model of Temporary Lay-off Plan (Spanish acronym: ERTE) due to COVID-19 is maintained and it has been made easier to process. The safeguarding of jobs is extended in the terms that govern at present.
