Statement by Government of Spain on resolution adopted by Regional Parliament of Catalonia on Wednesday

27/07/2016. The acting President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, informed the leaders of the main political parties that the Council of Ministers to be held on Friday, 29 July, will approve an agreement authorising the State Attorney's Office to file a ruling enforcement application with the Constitutional Court against the resolution adopted by the Regional Parliament of Catalonia on Wednesday.

    Guardia Civil arrest two individuals in Gerona accused of collaborating with a permanent structure to finance DAESH


    On Wednesday, officers from the Intelligence Headquarters of the Guardia Civil, together with units from the Gerona and Almeria command centres and the regional headquarters in Catalonia and Andalusia, under the instruction of Central Investigation Court number 1 and the Public Prosecutor's Office of the National High Court, arrested two brothers, aged 33 and 22, of Moroccan nationality and resident in Gerona. They are accused of offences of financing terrorism, collaboration with a terrorist group and self-indoctrination.

    State reduces its deficit to 1.9% of GDP in first half of year


    On Tuesday, the Ministry of the Treasury and Public Administration Services published the State deficit for the first half of the year on its website, as well as the joint deficit of the Central Government, the regional governments and the Social Security system up to May in national accounting terms.

    The monthly total of contributory pensions paid out by the Spanish Social Security system amounted to 8.52 billion euros at 1 July. The month-on-month increase stands at 3.09%.

    The group is made up of 36 men, 37 women and 82 children, who will be received in Murcia (21), Lugo (11), Cantabria (4), Valencia (8), Barcelona (7), Madrid (13), Leon (8), Valladolid (5), Soria (4), Palencia (5), Ávila (6), Zamora (4), Biscay (4), Zaragoza (29), Teruel (6), Malaga (7), Huelva (6) and Cordoba (7).
