The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, during which they discussed international cooperation and security in the Arctic region. The meeting took place at the Catalonia Conference Centre, ahead of the 'La Vanguardia 2026 Awards' gala.

During the meeting, Pedro Sánchez referred to the agreement reached between Denmark, the United States and Greenland, emphasising respect for Danish sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the rights and wishes of the Greenlandic people.

The president also championed dialogue, international law and cooperation amongst allies as the cornerstones for tackling shared challenges, and reiterated Spain's full commitment to security and stability in the Arctic.
