This contribution represents an increase of 25% over the previous commitment and reaffirms the Government of Spain's position in defending education as a basis for equality, opportunities, resilience and social cohesion.

As part of this visit, Pedro Sánchez also met with the young activist Francisco Vera, whom he thanked for his defence of the environment and the education of children around the world. He also expressed that "understanding, critical thinking and empowerment of people through education" are essential to address challenges such as conflict resolution or the fight against climate change.
