The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, held a meeting at the Moncloa Palace complex with a group of migrants who had been granted legal status in processes prior to the one approved this Tuesday, and another with representatives of institutions and organisations working in the field of migration or who have participated in the current regularisation process.
The president thanked them for their work and commitment in making possible what he called a historic regularisation, emphasising its impact on the lives of thousands of people who will see their rights recognised and will also be able to fulfil their obligations, in addition to the social, economic, and moral progress it represents for our country.
Pedro Sánchez stated that the success of this collective achievement will depend largely on how the regularisation process itself unfolds; how these individuals integrate into our companies; and how effectively we foster constructive coexistence that counters the messages of hate and polarisation being promoted by a very small minority within our society.
The head of the Executive expressed his conviction that this process will be a success thanks to the help and support of these organisations, as well as the work of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, which, under the leadership of Minister Saiz, will give its all.
Representatives from CEPYME, UGT, CCOO, the National Confederation of Construction Industry, the General Council of Spanish Lawyers, the General Council of Social Graduates, the Spanish Episcopal Conference, the Spanish Commission for Refugees, the Ibn Battuta Association, Movimiento Regularización YA, Movimiento por la Paz, the SUR ACOGE Foundation, SERCADE, the Rumiñahui Foundation, the CEPAIM Foundation, the Fundación Agricultores Solidarios, and the ACULCO Foundation participated in this meeting.
Representing the Government, Pedro Sánchez was accompanied by the Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, and the Secretary of State for Migration, Pilar Cancela.
