Pedro Sánchez conveys Spain's support for the democratic aspirations of the Belarusian people to Svetlana Tikhanovskaya

The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, met with the leader of the Belarusian opposition, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, to discuss the situation in the country and the need to continue making progress in the process of releasing political prisoners.

The president reiterated Spain's support for the democratic aspirations of the Belarusian people and emphasised the government's commitment to implementing the sanctions imposed by the European Union, considering them measures aligned with the response to Russia.
