The acting President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has held a meeting with representatives of the Spanish company PLD Space, which recently successfully completed the suborbital flight of the prototype satellite launcher, the 'Miura 1' rocket.

Pedro Sánchez congratulated them on this unprecedented technological milestone that places Spanish R&D&I at the forefront in the field and brings Spain among the ten countries in the world capable of designing, producing and launching space rockets. Miura 1 is a rocket built with 100% Spanish technology, with 30% public funding.

The acting president conveyed to them the Government of Spain 's sense of pride in having been able to accompany PLD Space in this project and the commitment to continue working together to make possible the development of the 'Miura 5', with which Spain could become the first country in Europe to have a satellite launcher of these characteristics.

The meeting was attended by Ezequiel Sánchez, Executive Chairman of PLD Space; Raúl Torres, CEO and co-founder of the company, and María Jesús Alberola, Director of the Miura Programme.
