The President of the Government underlined the value of memory as a guarantee that society and its institutions never forget the victims, and stressed the government's commitment to the Memorial Centre and its founding goals of spreading democratic values that embody the victims and of building a collective memory.

"Recalling them is an exercise in justice and dignity, and a moral imperative regarding the values that the victims of terrorism represent. And this is a personal debt to each of those who suffered and are still suffering", stated Pedro Sánchez in his speech.

The other trustees that attended the meeting included the First Vice-President of the Government, Carmen Calvo; the Minister for Defence, Margarita Robles; the Minister for Home Affairs, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, the Minister for Education and Vocational Training, Isabel Celaa, the Minister for Territorial Policy, Carolina Darias, and the Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá.
