Pedro Sánchez attends presentation of honours to 41 citizens on fifth anniversary of proclamation of Felipe VI as King

The King and Queen, accompanied by the Princess of Asturias and Princess Sofía, presented the Order of Civil Merit to 22 men and 19 women, aged between 19 and 107, from all 17 autonomous regions and the two autonomous cities. The selection of the honours list was made with contributions from public authorities and many organisation and associations representing social, cultural and economic fields.

The Order recognises the civil merits of people who have provided important services to the State through extraordinary work and in the exemplary compliance of their duties.

The event was also attended, on behalf of the caretaker government, by the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Josep Borrell, who is Chancellor of the Order of Civil Merit.
