President of the Government agrees with President of the Popular Party to suspend pre-election activities on Thursday

Following a proposal made by the President of the Government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, he and the President of the Partido Popular (PP) [the Popular Party], Mariano Rajoy, have agreed to suspend all election campaign activities throughout Spain on Thursday, 12 May, as a mark of respect for those who died during the earthquake in Murcia.

While speaking to Mariano Rajoy by telephone, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero also explained the measures being taken by the Government and the deployment of resources located in the region.
