The president, Pedro Sánchez, has visited the new Carmencita Especias factory in Novelda (Alicante). The headquarters of this century-old Alicante-based company, covering 30,000 square metres, is the largest spice factory in Spain and one of the largest and most modern in Europe.

The President of the Government of Spain was accompanied on his visit by the Minister for Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant, and the Government Delegate for the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, with whom he toured the new facilities of the brand, a leading player in the Valencian Community's economy.

Founded in 1920, Carmencita Especias ended 2025 with a turnover of 119 million euros and operates in more than 70 countries, employing around 500 people. With strong roots in the local community, it collaborates with initiatives such as the Carmencita Chair in Flavour Studies at the University of Alicante and the Alicante Gastronómica Solidaria association, which prepares meals for vulnerable groups.
