The Minister for the Presidency, Justice and Parliamentary Relations, Félix Bolaños, the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, King Felipe VI, the First Vic- President, Carlos Cuerpo, and the Minister of Finance, Arcadi España (Casa de SM el Rey)
Carlos Cuerpo and Arcadi España took their oaths of office in the Salón de Audiencias of La Zarzuela Palace on a copy of the Constitution, in the presence of the King, the President of the Government of Spain, and the Minister for the Presidency, Justice and Parliamentary Relations, Félix Bolaños, who acted as First Notary of the Kingdom.
Also attending the ceremony were the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Francina Armengol Socias; the President of the Upper House of Parliament, Pedro Rollán Ojeda; the President of the Constitutional Court, Cándido Conde-Pumpido Tourón; and the Director General of Legal Security and Public Faith, María Esther Pérez Jerez.
The members of the Cabinet swore their oaths of office on a facsimile copy of the Constitution published by the Spanish Parliament in 1980, opened to Title IV, which deals with the Government and the Administration.
After taking their oaths, the new First Vice-President and current Minister for Economy, Carlos Cuerpo, and the new Minister for Finance, Arcadi España, went to the Ministry of Finance headquarters to receive the portfolio from their predecessor, María Jesús Montero.
The head of the Executive confirmed the latest cabinet reshuffle of this legislative term in an official statement, after informing King Felipe VI. Pedro Sánchez announced the appointment of Carlos Cuerpo as the new First Vice-President, replacing María Jesús Montero. Cuerpo retains the portfolio of Economy, Trade, and Business.
The head of the Executive also announced the appointment of the former Secretary of State for Territorial Policy, Arcadi España, as the new Minister for Finance.
