Pedro Sánchez conveyed to her that his government considers feminism a matter of human rights, as well as the driving force behind Spain's great transformation, and that every public policy promoted by the government has a gender perspective at its core.
For her part, Malala Yousafzai thanked President Sánchez for his stance in defence of international law, equality, and the rights of Afghan women.
Spain promotes a Feminist Foreign Policy that comprehensively addresses humanitarian action, international protection, and the active defence of the rights of women and girls in international forums. It also participates in initiatives such as the HearUs conferences, and is vocal in demanding accountability for human rights violations, with particular attention to the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan.
