The President of the Government of Spain held a telephone conversation with the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, to exchange views on the situation in Gaza and the Middle East in the current context of a growing risk of regional escalation.

Both leaders agreed on the need to respect international humanitarian law and to call for an immediate ceasefire. They also expressed their commitment to a just and lasting peace in the region through the two-state solution.
