The President of the Government of Spain has this Thursday spoken with the President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, in light of the violence unleashed in the country in recent days.

Pedro Sánchez conveyed to Daniel Noboa Spain's clear condemnation of the violent acts carried out by criminal groups and its solidarity with the victims, their families and the whole population of Ecuador.

The president of the Government of Spain expressed Spain's support for Ecuador's democratic institutions, and the hope that normality will be restored in the country as soon as possible.

The two leaders also discussed the deepening of security relations, both bilaterally and in the framework of cooperation with the European Union.
