Pedro Sánchez conveyed his support for a just and lasting peace, based on international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. He also reiterated Spain's support for Ukraine's path towards the EU to the Ukrainian president.

The two leaders discussed the current situation of the conflict, President Sánchez conveying to President Zelenki that Spain will continue to support Ukraine's ability to defend its cities, energy infrastructure and ports. In this regard, Pedro Sánchez offered the Ukrainian president new anti-aircraft and anti-drone systems, as well as specialised training in this area for Ukrainian soldiers and new demining equipment.

Following talks with President Zelenski today, the Government of Spain will provide Ukraine with six Hawk launchers to counter possible Russian bombardment of civilian targets and critical infrastructure, and to defend the new grain corridor.
