President Sanchez discusses sustainable development with seven young representatives of Local Participation Councils

The meeting was attended by the President of UNICEF Spain, Gustavo Suárez Pertierra, who presented the results of the III Opinion Barometer on Children and Adolescents 2022.

These statewide meetings, held every two years, are spaces for minors to discuss issues related to children's rights. On this occasion, the seven participants, aged between 12 and 17, talked to the President of the Government about childhood and rural areas, the environment, human rights, poverty and inequality and mental health, among other issues.

The president shared with these young people some of the actions carried out by the government in favour of a safe and happy childhood, such as the approval of the Strategy for the Eradication of Violence against Children and Adolescents 2023-2030 and the deployment of the Minimum Basic Income and the supplementary aid for children.
