Sánchez underlined the unifying nature of the infrastructure and its fundamental role in the executive's commitment to social and territorial cohesion in order to "guarantee a real future of progress in Spain".

"Infrastructures such as this are an example of the government's commitment to the process of territorial structuring and cohesion", said the chief executive, accompanied by the Minister for Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez; the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, and the President of the Government of Aragón, Javier Lambán, among other authorities.

The upgrading of the N-232 will result in reduced distance and journey times in the area, which will now have a safer and more modern road to cope with the difficulties arising from the mountainous nature of the land. "As well as improving speed and comfort, it is a great step forward in terms of safety, dramatically improving the capabilities and functionality of this road," said the president.

Sánchez also highlighted the sustainable nature of the infrastructure and the commitment of the government to "minimise the environmental impact of the work" in the area. "This government remains committed to the modernisation of the country accompanied by social and territorial cohesion, so that Spain can move forward by prioritising sustainability and rural development," he said.

"This infrastructure links the Valencian Community with Aragón even more", the president remarked. He also stressed the importance of the Recovery Plan in achieving the goal of full connectivity and digitisation: "Spain advances when all its territories advance, when its physical and digital infrastructures improve".
