The head of the Executive stressed that both countries share a commitment to security in the Euro-Atlantic area. He also welcomed the progress made towards Sweden's and Finland's accession to the Atlantic Alliance, two consolidated democracies whose candidacies have Spain's support.

Pedro Sánchez highlighted Turkey as a key actor and partner in security and mediation. In this regard, the president congratulated Turkey for its diplomatic efforts to encourage talks and an end to Russian aggression in Ukraine. He also thanked it for its support in strengthening the southern flank, the 360 degree concept and the fight against terrorism.

The president of the Government of Spain stressed that Spain and Turkey, as strategic partners, will continue to develop their already intense relations and promote the European Union's positive agenda with Turkey. In this regard, Pedro Sánchez recalled the importance of dialogue in the Eastern Mediterranean.
