Lower House of Parliament, Madrid

At the beginning of the ceremony, the president wanted to vindicate and recall "everything that the Constitution brought us after an infamous time, after a prolonged dictatorship in our country over many years". Sánchez stated that the Constitution brought rights, freedoms, harmony and also coexistence, where before there was hatred and tyranny. Moreover, the Magna Carta brought us our membership of the European Union, the president pointed out.

Sánchez made a call to vindicate the work of "the thousands and thousands of compatriots, of fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers who made the Constitution possible. And because it cost us a lot and it cost those generations a lot, I believe that for the generations that are now taking up their baton, what we have to do is to take care of our Constitution. And taking care of our Constitution, in my opinion, means complying with all the articles of the Constitution, from the first to the last. Each and every article of the Constitution", the president pointed out.
