The President of the Government of Spain Pedro Sánchez this Sunday visited the Frutas y Cítricos de Mula SCL (FRUCIMU) facilities in Murcia, in an agricultural cooperative that develops its activity as a benchmark in national and international markets and that has a firm commitment to economic, social and environmental sustainability. "This Government is working to dignify the work and pay of farmers and livestock breeders," Sánchez stressed.

Along these lines, the head of the Executive highlighted the Government's commitment to the social economy and the future of the agri-food sector, which will have a total investment of 52.784 billion euros up to 2027, coming from EU CAP funds and the contribution from the State Budget. The Government is also underpinning this commitment with the promotion and recent approval of the Food Chain Law, which balances the sector and guarantees the protection of farmers and livestock breeders, who until now have been the weakest links in the food chain.

During his visit, Sánchez recognised the working model of the Murcian co-operative, which employs more than 500 permanent workers throughout the year and enables the local population to settle in the region, generating wealth where it operates and acts as the backbone of employment in rural areas.
