Renault Group plant, Palencia

The presentation of the plan included the presence of the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, the French Ambassador to Spain, Jean Michel Casa, and the senior management of the automotive company, including the CEO of the Renault Group, Luca de Meo, and the Chairman of Renault Spain, José Vicente de los Mozos, among other business and political leaders.

Renault's industrial plan awards Spain the manufacture of five hybrid vehicles, which will turn our country into a hub for the electrification of the sector and guarantee the continuity of its installations. Renault estimates that its 2021-2024 industrial plan will generate a value for Spain in excess of 12 billion euros over the next four years.

During the presentation, the company explained that "this plan boosts the economic recovery, since it creates jobs, makes investments and strengthens the industrial fabric". Renault acknowledges that Spain is the second most important country for the company after France.

Commitment to jobs

The Renault Group, through its plants in Palencia, Valladolid and Seville, creates 15,000 direct jobs in Spain and more than 100,000 indirect jobs. The manufacture of products that Renault now assigns to Spanish plants under its new industrial plan will create another 1,000 permanent jobs.

Renault, which has had a presence in Spain for almost 70 years, has produced close to 20 million vehicles in our country. It currently contributes to the trade balance with an approximate weighting of 5% of our exports.

Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan

To date, the Renault Group has presented projects to expressions of interest from several ministerial departments within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan for an approximate sum of 4 billion euros. These include a project for an integral renewable factory for the sum of 500 million euros. Renault is also taking part in projects tied into automated mobility and the introduction of the "battery management system" as a partner.
