Moncloa Palace, Madrid

The measures included in this legislative text stem from the dialogue process managed by the Government of Spain with all the actors involved in the food chain: crop farmers, livestock farmers, retailers, the agri-food industry, distributors and consumers.

The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, for whom "this is a government that listens, converses and takes action", will report on the content of this Royal Decree-Law at a press briefing after the Council of Ministers meeting. This will be immediately followed by a specific information briefing for the media on this topic.

To conclude this dialogue process, the minister will call another meeting of the sectoral dialogue council on Tuesday afternoon in order to present the action taken by the Government of Spain. So far, Luis Planas has held some 20 meetings over the course of the last three weeks.
