Recep Tayyip Erdoğan thanks Spain for maintaining mission in Turkey under NATO framework

At his meeting with the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the latter thanked Spain for maintaining the Patriot missile defence mission in Turkey under the framework of NATO. They also exchanged perspectives on the opportunity to enhance relations between the two countries at an economic level.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan invited Acting President of the Government Sánchez to make an official visit to Turkey next year, after the government is formed, accompanied by a delegation of Spanish business owners.

At his meeting with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, Pedro Sánchez thanked him for his commitment to the European project and declared Spain's support for his country's process to become a member of NATO.

Pedro Sánchez also met with the Prime Ministers of Canada, Justin Trudeau; of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, and of Iceland, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, with whom he addressed the need to reflect on the future of NATO and to seek a common commitment from its Member States to fight the climate emergency and to foster gender equality.
