Mexico City (Mexico)

"Let's be a credible and effective alternative to xenophobic and exclusionary projects that call on fear to limit rights and halt progress in the Ibero-American societies. Let's work together towards progress in the region", said Pedro Sánchez to Manuel López Obrador.

During their meeting, the two leaders reviewed the strong relations that unite the two countries and adopted a Joint Declaration that contains the most important aspects of the strategic relationship between Spain and Mexico, and a Declaration on Spain's participation in the Integral Development Plan for Central America.

Lastly, the two leaders exchanged impressions on the regional situation, particularly on Venezuela and Nicaragua, and the migratory challenge in Central America.
