Mariano Rajoy expresses his solidarity over the effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria to Chairman of CARICOM

Dear Chairman,

I wish to pass on through this channel, and in your position as the Rotating Chairman of CARICOM, the solidarity and empathy of the people and Government of Spain with the member States of CARICOM at this difficult time.

We have observed with great concern the serious damage, both human and material, left in the wake of Hurricane Irma last week and presently being caused by Hurricane Maria.

We particularly regret the loss of human life and to that end, I would ask you, Mr Prime Minister, to pass on to all the Member States of CARICOM our deepest sympathies, as well as our best wishes for a speedy recovery to all those affected by this disaster.
