Inclusion celebrates Open Government Week with events to raise public awareness of the Public Administration

The Open Government Partnership (Open Gov Week) promotes Open Government Week (OGW) worldwide with the aim of fostering a shared culture between public administrations and citizens, based on the values of transparency and integrity, civic participation, and the promotion of fundamental rights, as well as accountability.
Spain has been a member of the Open Government Partnership since 2011, and has participated in the organisation of eight editions. In Spain, this initiative is coordinated and promoted by the Directorate General for Public Governance, in collaboration with the Open Government Forum.
Reform of the supplementary pension system
The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration will be holding an online session (Microsoft Teams) on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm, as part of Open Administration Week. The session will provide information on the reform implemented in Spain to the supplementary pension system, which forms the so-called second pillar of the system, through Law 12/2022 of 30 June, regulating the promotion of occupational pension plans and its subsequent implementing regulations.
The event will be presented by Ms. Jana Isabel Calvo de Miguel, Deputy Director General for the Promotion of Occupational Pension Funds, from the Directorate General for Social Security Organisation, under the Secretary of State for Social Security and Pensions. Specifically, the programme includes background information, the events that motivated the reform of the supplementary pension system, new instruments of the reform of the supplementary pension system in Spain, the advantages of supplementary social security for companies and workers, the current situation, as well as progress and measures that the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration is working on to promote supplementary social security.
The event is open to the general public and is free of charge. In order to participate, it is necessary to complete a registration form. Once the above information has been submitted, participants will receive an email confirming their participation, which will include a link to access the videoconference.
Tour of Social Security facilities and presentation of e-services
On Tuesday 19 May 2026, the Provincial Directorate of Social Security in Castellón is organising a guided tour of the facilities of the Comprehensive Social Security Office in Castellón de la Plana. This tour will include an informative visit to the Social Security Museum in Castellón, as well as an exhibition on the electronic services provided to the public by the General Treasury and the National Social Security Institute.
The activity will take place in the morning in three slots (10 am, 11 am and 12 noon), and the meeting point will be the main entrance of the Castellón de la Plana Comprehensive Social Security Office, located at Plaza Juez Borrull 14.
Visit to the Spanish Radiomedical Centre
The Social Marine Institute (ISM) is joining the "Open Administration Week" initiative with a day of scheduled visits, by appointment only (due to capacity limitations), to the Spanish Radiomedical Centre of the Social Marine Institute on 20 May 2026. This centre, located in the ISM's Central Services in Madrid, provides remote healthcare to seafarers working on ships of any country and flag, 365 days a year.
The visit will be led by a highly experienced maritime health professional, who will explain the procedures followed at the centre in response to the incident that occurred on board and the importance of health training for future maritime professionals.

Visit to the Maritime Rescue and Assistance Vessel "Juan de la Cosa"
The Social Marine Institute is also offering a day of scheduled visits, by appointment only (due to capacity limitations), to the "Juan de la Cosa" Hospital Ship on 22 and 23 May 2026.
This activity, organised by the Secretary of State for Social Security and Pensions, the Social Marine Institute (ISM) and the Provincial Directorate of Cantabria, aims to enable participants to witness first-hand the assistance and public service work carried out, primarily for our merchant and fishing fleets, by the ISM and its hospital ships, and in this case, the "Juan de la Cosa."
