The Minister for Equality, Ana Redondo, took part in the event "Financing Care through Equality: Towards a Feminist. International Alliance for Development", which was held within the framework of the United Nations Financing for Development Conference in Seville.

Ana Redondo argued that care must be at the heart of the global financing for development agenda and identified this as an essential objective for the International Feminist Alliance, which is promoted by the Ministry of Equality.

Caregivers

"Women are still fundamentally the caregivers and we have to close this gap", Redondo said, also insisting that "we cannot work in our own trenches, we need to weave the network, which sometimes is not well connected internationally with the institutions. More coordination is needed to make steady progress.

Ana Redondo also stressed Spain's commitment to equality, care and the feminist agenda. "We live in a complex reality and it is time for feminist intelligence because change will either come through feminism or it will not. It needs to be reaffirmed", she concluded.
