The Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function, Óscar López, met this Monday with the Luxembourg Minister for the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, and the Minister for Digitalisation, Research and Higher Education, Stéphanie Obertin. At the meeting, held at the Ministry's head office, they addressed various issues of interest related to data management, cybersecurity, the use of Artificial Intelligence and the application of quantum technologies in the European scenario.
In this context, the Spanish minister shared some of the progress made by the Government of Spain in these matters with his Luxembourger counterparts. These include the first National Strategy for Quantum Technologies, approved last April by the Executive, and the creation of the first quantum computer built with 100% European technology.
In addition, Óscar López highlighted the creation of one of the first seven European AI Factories to be located at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, after Spain was chosen by the European Joint Undertaking for High Performance Computing (EuroHPC) to set it up, along with Luxembourg and five other countries.
