This data has been obtained by using the Economically Active Population Survey (EPA), official statistics from the National Statistical Plan produced by the National Statistics Institute, which the Ministry of Culture carries out and published today.
This figure has increased by 8.3% since 2020 and already exceeds the figure recorded in 2019 with pre-COVID-19 pandemic data by 1.8%. There is also an increase of 4.7% compared to 2021.
There are significant sex differences between cultural employment and total employment, with a lower proportion of women, 40.2%, compared to 46.6% for all employment.
Cultural employment is characterised by above-average educational attainment, with a higher rate of higher education than that observed for the country as a whole, 70.2% compared to 46.6%. Some 68.8% of cultural employment is salaried, lower than that of the total (84.9%), with full-time and part-time employment rates of 88.9% and 11.1% respectively.
