Government of Spain condemns attack on demonstration led by Acting President Guaidó in Barquisimeto (Venezuela)

The Government of Spain rejects the harassment of Acting President Guaidó, his followers and the representatives of the democratic opposition in Venezuela in general. It demands that all those responsible desist from making statements that may incite this type of action. It also demands that the people of Venezuela be guaranteed the legitimate right to peaceful demonstration.

The only sustainable solution to this profound, multidimensional crisis ravaging Venezuela is an inclusive negotiated solution agreed by all the main political forces. The Government of Spain reiterates its willingness to contribute towards this end.
