Strategic weapons and arms stash belonging to the terrorist group ETA located north-east of Paris (France)

As part of Operation Descubrimiento and in collaboration with the French General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI), officers of the Spanish Guardia Civil have managed to located one of the strategic weapons and arms stashes used by the terrorist group ETA in a woodland area of the French town of Carlepont, some 100 kilometres to the north-east of Paris in the Department of Oise (60).

The operation, which is the result of some extraordinary work carried out in France by the Permanent Intelligence Squads made up by officers from the French DGSI and the Spanish Guardia Civil, highlights the excellent level of cooperation between Spain and France in the fight against terrorism, at both police and judicial levels.

At present, officers from the French judicial police are carrying out a visual inspection of the stash in order to draw up an inventory and quantify the material discovered.
