The Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and 2030 Agenda, and the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, have published an initiative aimed at facilitating understanding, and therefore access, to the extraordinary administrative regularisation process for migrants already residing in Spain.

With this initiative, the Government of Spain seeks to guarantee this right to migrants, especially those who have difficulty understanding the process due to not speaking Spanish as their first language, being unfamiliar with administrative and legal language, or for other reasons such as intellectual disability, low literacy levels, or other circumstances.

To this end, the Government of Spain has produced a publicly accessible document in Easy Read format explaining who can benefit from the process, the administrative steps involved, how to submit the application, the deadlines, the required documents and the benefits for those who regularise their immigration status.

This information is also available in a sign language video to ensure accessibility for those who need it. The video can be accessed at this link.

Promoted by the Ministry of Social Rights and the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, the project was implemented through the Spanish Centre for Cognitive Accessibility (CEACOG). The same content was also adapted into Spanish Sign Language in collaboration with the Centre for Linguistic Normalisation.

This action also serves to comply with the United Nations Global Compact for Migration, to which Spain is a signatory, and which urges States to provide accurate and timely information at all stages of migration and to establish open and accessible information points in a language that is understandable to the migrant.

All the information is available on the regularisation website

The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has launched a website (inclusion.gob.es/regularización) specifically designed to provide information about the extraordinary regularisation process.

The website compiles all the detailed information about the process, including specific documentation such as application forms, fact sheets, explanatory videos and an extensive document with 100 technical questions that answer the most frequently asked questions about regularisation.

From the regularisation website, it is also possible to initiate the procedure itself if you have an electronic certificate, request an appointment to submit the application in person and make queries.
