At the meeting, Albares and Dvořák noted the good political and economic relations between the two countries and agreed to further deepen them.

On the European agenda, ministers agreed to prioritise the enlargement of the European Union, underlining the importance of maintaining an inclusive and rigorous process. Albares also reiterated the importance of trade agreements with third countries, with special mention of the EU-Mercosur Association Agreement.

Other topical issues were also discussed at the meeting, such as support for Ukraine, reiterating the commitment of both countries to stability and peace in the region, as well as the current situation in the Middle East and the need for a permanent ceasefire and the opening of channels for the massive influx of humanitarian aid, in addition to the release of all hostages,

Czech-Spanish conference

The meeting ended at the Fundación Ortega-Marañón, where both ministers took part in the inauguration of the first Czech-Spanish conference, which aims to promote cultural and academic exchange.

Under the title "United in Europe, different paths, a common goal", the conference is part of the 20th anniversary of the Czechia's accession to the European Union and reinforces the commitment of Spain and Czechia to continuous cooperation and dialogue, both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union.
