The meeting with María Jesús Herrera (IOM) discussed the projects implemented within the framework of the Agreement signed between the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and the IOM. Some of these projects are: "Resettlement Activities", "Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration", "Enhancing the Value of Migrant Associations in Spain" and "Ethical Communication on Migration in the Media", related to integration and social cohesion, as well as "Support to Spanish authorities in implementing circular migration programmes", linked to labour migration.

For her part, Minister Elma Saiz and the representative of the UNHCR in Spain, Sophie Muller, addressed current issues related to migratory flows at both national and international levels, such as international protection and refuge.

At the meeting, the added value and differential value of Spain's having already implemented protocols against sex-based violence and trafficking in both the Humanitarian Attention system and the International Protection system was highlighted, as well as the importance of collaboration with the different ministries of the Government of Spain.

They also discussed the progress of shared projects and actions aimed at the integration of refugees, applicants for international protection and stateless persons in Spain, which focus both on their integration and on raising awareness in the host societies.

"The constant dialogue between organisations and the willingness to seek solutions also in the medium and long term are the main keys to successful collaborations such as these," said Minister Saiz.
