For the acting Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Héctor Gómez, "these figures show that, in addition to the consolidation of the European markets, there is also the good performance of distant markets, such as Mexico and the USA. We must continue to guarantee air connectivity and the projection of Spain as a sustainable, diversified and quality destination".

In October, the performances of Poland (47.4% more seats booked than in October 2022), Czech Republic (26.6% more than a year ago) and Portugal (21.2% year-on-year growth) stand out. Also noteworthy is the year-on-year growth in seats on scheduled flights from Mexico this October, up 20.5%.

"The projection is that this last quarter of the year will round off an extraordinary year for tourism in our country, with every indication that it will continue in 2024," said the Tourism Minister.

In terms of the percentage of seats booked per country, the UK leads the way with 22.7% of the total number of seats booked for this month, followed by Germany with 14.9% and Italy with 8.9% (see table). Between them, these countries account for almost half the reserved seats.

Note: In interpreting the data, it should be remembered that the schedule is subject to change by the airlines.
