At the meeting, prior to the EPSCO (Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council) to be held tomorrow, Minister Darias shared the Government of Spain's health priorities during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union - beginning on 1 July - with Commissioner Kyriakides.

Darias highlighted, among others, three legislative priorities: the European Health Data Space Regulation, to advance the development of digital health in Europe; the amendment of the EMA fees regulation, to ensure optimal funding for the work of regulatory agencies; and the SoHO (tissues, cells and blood) regulation to guarantee the safety and quality of substances of human origin.

In terms of policy priorities, Minister Darias highlighted the response to childhood obesity, and the fight against HIV and stigma, two issues on which Spain has national plans. And the third, Mental Health, in which our country will share the initiatives implemented to contribute to the response that the European Union must give to this great challenge.
