Within the framework of this meeting, the Minister for Culture and Sport, Miquel Iceta, held a bilateral meeting with his counterpart, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, in which they reaffirmed their desire to continue strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.

Memorandum of Understanding

"This High Level Meeting is a unique opportunity to intensify our cultural and sporting relations and to renew agreements that will undoubtedly be beneficial for our two countries," Iceta said during his speech at the meeting.

The Ministry of Culture and Sport has signed a memorandum of understanding on archives in Rabat to promote cooperation and the exchange of experience in the management, conservation and restoration of archival documents. Similarly, this agreement will facilitate the exchange of information on archives available in each country that may be of interest to the other, thus facilitating the exchange of copies of relevant documentation.

The Pillars of Hercules

In addition, the Minister for Culture and Sport announced the collaboration with the Moroccan government to exhibit in Morocco the exhibition 'Around the Pillars of Hercules. The age-old relations between Morocco and Spain', which was on display last year at the Museo Arqueológico Nacional in Madrid. "We now want to propose a tour of this exciting project, full of symbolism, which offers a unique testimony to the continuity of the historical exchanges between Morocco and Spain, through which both Spaniards and Moroccans have accumulated experiences, knowledge and cultural heritage," he said.
