The Ministry of Health is automatically sending, via the email addresses provided by users, the notice of availability of the electronic administrative notification from which the updated and fully valid EU-DC can be downloaded until the date indicated by the European regulations in force.

Likewise, for some days now, the General Secretariat for Digital Health, Information and Innovation in the NHS at the Ministry of Health has been sending a text message via SMS to the mobile phones of people whose EU-DCs were issued by the Ministry and requested by users in Wallet format, which have already been updated.

In any case, any person wishing to update theirs can reapply for their EU-DC via the website of the Ministry of Health by authenticating themselves using a digital certificate.

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2021 on a framework for issuing, verifying and accepting interoperable COVID-19 vaccinations, diagnostic tests and recovery certificates (EU digital COVID CERTIFICATE, EU-DC) and, in order to facilitate the free movement of people during the COVID-19 pandemic, complementing the work by the Regional Governments, the Ministry of Health issues and delivers these certificates, only in electronic format and only for the vaccination and recovery modalities. This Regulation extends the validity of the certificates until 30 June 2023.

To resolve any doubts about the process, it is possible to contact the User Care Service offered by the Ministry by mail (cau@ccd.sanidad.gob.es) or by telephone +34 910 50 98 88.
