This was announced by the Minister for Health, Carolina Darias, after the meeting she held with Andrea Palm, Deputy Secretary of the US Department of Health, within the framework of the Second G20 Summit of Health Ministers, which is being held in Bali (Indonesia).

During the meeting, the US representative showed interest in learning about the progress made by Spain's National Health System (NHS) in healthcare digitalisation.

Both countries share an interest in the use of new technologies (IT) to strengthen health systems, with a particular focus on interoperability, to exchange and access clinical information.

Likewise, the US and Spain agree on the importance of developing tools to support telemedicine and the most vulnerable when it comes to mental health.

Also at the bilateral meeting, the Spanish minister and the US representative at the G20 Summit highlighted and shared the health challenges facing both countries in order to face future health emergencies./serviciosdeprensa/notasprensa/sanidad14/PublishingImages/2022/271022-darias-g20-bilateral-eeuu.JPG?RenditionID=32
