During his speech, Iceta stressed that "the Ministry of Culture and Sport is working with the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture and Sport to offer cooperation in the recovery of the damaged cultural heritage".

The Prado Museum is paying tribute to Ukraine with the installation of large canvases on the Velázquez and Goya doors with the names of five Ukrainian museums, in Cyrillic and translated into Spanish.

To immortalise this support, a photograph was taken in front of the Velázquez door, in the presence of Miquel Iceta; the Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá; the President of the Museum's Board of Trustees, Javier Solana; the Spanish Ambassador to Ukraine, Serhii Pohoreltsev, and the Museum's Director, Miguel Falomir, together with sixty Ukrainian citizens.

State museums are celebrating International Museum Day today with workshops, special guided tours, children's activities, concerts and performing arts, with the aim of bringing them closer to the public.
