Specifically, the Spanish Minister's visit to Mexico led to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the bilateral Permanent Political Sub-Commission; another on collaboration in Feminist Foreign Policy; an amended Complementary Agreement to the Basic Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation for the financing of cooperation programmes and projects; and another Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration within the framework of the holding of the World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development "MONDIACULT".

With the signing of these agreements, which took place at the headquarters of the Mexican Foreign Ministry, both countries reaffirm the value they attach to their fraternal relationship and they coincide with the 45th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Spain, which will be celebrated on 28 March. A relationship that is also highlighted by the fight against COVID, to which the two ministers underlined the importance of mutual solidarity in the context of Covid-19.

During the meeting between the two ministers, the strength of the legal and institutional framework and the desirability of developing its full potential between the two countries were highlighted. In particular, they called for the 13th meeting of the Binational Commission to be held in order for its five sub-commissions to produce positive results, and also agreed on the importance of developing an inter-parliamentary dialogue.

Economic relations between the two countries occupied a large part of the talks of the foreign ministers, who welcomed the fact that the two economies have significant scope for complementarity and underlined the mutually beneficial effects of investment in both countries. In this regard, both Albares and Ebrard noted the commitment to maintain the positive economic partnership.
