The Government of Spain relaxes the health requirements for entry into Spain for non-EU nationals between 12 and 17 years of age

News - 2022.2.11

Thus, from midnight on 14 February, travellers between 12 and 17 years of age from these countries who do not have a valid vaccination certificate may present a NAAT molecular nucleic acid amplification test (RT-PCR or similar) for SARS-CoV-2 with a negative result, carried out 72 hours before arrival in our country.

The Ministries for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation; Industry, Trade and Tourism; and Health have worked together on this Order, which was signed by the Minister for Home Affairs.

Likewise, children under 12 years of age, travelling with an adult, will not be subject to any type of health requirement, as was the case until now.

This measure is also in line with the proposal to amend Recommendation (EU) 2020/912 on the temporary restriction of non-essential travel to the EU, which is currently under review.
