As from Thursday, Spain has more than 10 million people with at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, 21.4% of the population. This figure is reflected in the vaccination report indicating that almost 14 million doses have been administered and over 3,700,000 people have already completed the full course of vaccination.

Worth highlighting from the figures released on Thursday is that, in the over-80 age group, 99.4% of people have already received at least one dose and that 72.1% have received two doses; in the 70-79 age group, 55.1% have at least one dose; and in the 60-69 age group, 40.9% have already received one dose.

After receiving this data, the Minister for Health, Carolina Darias, stressed that the vaccination process continues to gain momentum given that an increasing number of vaccines are arriving in Spain, recalling that Spain will receive more than 40 million vaccine doses in this quarter alone to vaccinate the people.

Carolina Darias said that this achievement has been made possible by the hard work of regional government authorities and the healthcare community. "I would like to recognise that hard work, which is enabling the vaccination process to get ahead of the virus for the first time. There are now more people who have completed their vaccination with two doses and are therefore immunised than the number of reported cases".

"Today, another milestone was reached; a new milestone on this path towards heard immunity. Today there are more than 10 million people who have had at least one dose. Vaccines represent our hope looking forward; vaccines are safe, effective and save lives", said the Minister for Health, Carolina Darias.
