At the meeting of the Government Delegated Committee for Demographic Challenge, chaired by the Fourth Vice-President of the Government and Minister for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, the measures and actions to enhance the territorial structure were set out.

In this framework, the measures and actions to enhance the territorial structure were set out, including active employment policies to promote rural jobs, in a decisive commitment to involve women and young people in regional recovery and the creation of opportunities.

Minister Díaz outlined the proposed strategies and measures for action by her department, which are structured around three pacts: social, territorial and inter-generational.

Yolanda Díaz also stressed the need to reduce the difficulties in digital access by vulnerable groups to improve their professional outlook and reduce the technology gap in the rural environment.

The social economy is heading up specific actions by the Ministry of Work in this area, by promoting, for example, pilot projects for job opportunities in the textile and agri-food sectors for young people and women, with the aim of settling and rejuvenating the population.

To this end, Teruel has been proposed as the Spanish Social Economy Capital in 2021, highlighting the leading role of this economic model in acting to combat rural depopulation.

"Entrepreneurship and the social economy, indicated the Minister for Work, allow innovative formulas to be employed to activate resources in a given region, very positively contributing to its natural and social environment, strengthening and regenerating its community. The social economy creates wealth and jobs and has a special value for making regions more dynamic".

The new Remote Working Act, pushed through by the Ministry of Work and Social Economy, will be another of the pillars to enhance equal rights, within the context of the government's Plan of Measures addressed on Tuesday by the Government Delegated Committee for Demographic Challenge. All of the department's activity takes on the cross-cutting nature of the goals of the Strategy to Combat the Demographic Challenge to guarantee regional connectivity and the provision of services to all people under equal conditions.
