Spain has performed more than 19.8 million diagnostic tests since start of epidemic

In the last week, between 4 and 10 December, the regional governments have performed a total of 453,951 PCR tests, an average of 64,850 a day.

In addition, from 4 to 10 December, the regional governments have performed a total of 278,794 antigen tests (39,827 a day). Including the PCR tests performed, this amounts to a total of 732,745 diagnostic tests over the course of the week, 104,677 a day. Accordingly, the number of diagnostic tests has increased by 4%, at a rate of 422.42 tests per 1,000 inhabitants.

New techniques are gradually being developed for the diagnosis of the infection caused by SARS-Cov2, such as the rapid antigen tests that the Regional Health Departments are starting to introduce to manage the pandemic.
