Ministry of Education and Vocational Training enables web site with pedagogical content for education community to work in virtual environment
News - 2020.3.23
By creating this web page, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training seeks to facilitate access to educational resources specifically used for distance education and learning processes, which include the EDIA Project, the Procomún network of open education resources and the Distance Learning Centre for Innovation and Development (Spanish acronym: CIDEAD). It also includes materials prepared by regional education departments and such private bodies as publishers and educational platforms.
To facilitate access to the information, the web page is organised in three main sections:
- Teachers. This contains useful resources for teachers in all stages of education prior to university (primary, compulsory secondary, advanced secondary, vocational training). It also offers information on open training created by the National Institute for Education Technologies and Teacher Training (Spanish acronym: INTEF) and other initiatives by such private bodies as publishers and educational platforms, which are making their services available to the education community.
- Families. This section offers parents information on various tools, web sites and applications organised by stage of education and subject which can help complement the education of their children and even develop fun family activities. Information is also available on how to access the virtual content of the main museums in Spain and around the world.
- Regional education departments. This section includes the main initiatives developed by regional education departments to help and guide teachers within their jurisdiction during these extraordinary circumstances.
This Ministry of Education and Vocational Training initiative is in addition to the special programme 'Aprendemos en casa' [Let's learn at home] broadcast by Spanish Television as from Monday, 23 March, a project promoted by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training to facilitate learning under these extraordinary circumstances in which it is important for pupils to maintain their study habits without causing additional tensions at home to those already caused by the situation of prolonged confinement.
The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training wishes to acknowledge and express thanks for the tremendous efforts being made by teachers to ensure that all pupils can complete the academic year.
